Dr. Fischer graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry and studied at the University of Nebraska, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He grew up in rural southeast Nebraska and attended high school at Falls City Sacred Heart. His parents were healthcare providers and had a horse farm. He has two brothers and a sister, and they spent many hours helping their mom and dad with the horses. Dr. Fischer traveled to numerous shows and showed the family's horses in several world championships.
A Career in Smiles
Because of a long line of healthcare providers in his family, he grew up following them around as they cared for people and saw the enjoyment it brought to their patients, and he knew he wanted to do something similar. While working on his bachelor's degree, dentistry came calling.
Dr. Fischer has spent most of his career, 15+ years, owning and practicing dentistry in rural Nebraska and Kansas. Now that he lives in Lincoln, he has joined up with a leader in high-quality dental care, Williamsburg Dental.
Throughout his career, the thing he has enjoyed the most is the relationships he has developed with his patients. The doctor-patient relationship has allowed him to work with his patients to decide the path they want to take with their dental health.
Advanced Training
Besides the relationships, Dr. Fischer finds dentistry's creative and artistic side to be very satisfying. He has always found it important to continually improve his skills. He has attended some of the most prominent advanced education institutes over the years, which have helped him provide the highest quality of care available. These include the Pankey Institute, the Dawson Center for Advanced Education, and the Schuster Center for Professional Development. Dr. Fischer is also certified in facial esthetic procedures, including Botox and dermal fillers. He attends annual educational classes about new dental materials and techniques available to provide his patients with the most up-to-date dentistry.
Outside the Office
Dr. Fischer has been married to his wife, Shelly, for 30+ years, and she has also made a career in dentistry as a dental hygienist. She will also be joining Williamsburg Dental. They have two children, Bianca and Brittany, who are working as healthcare professionals. They are also blessed with a wonderful son-in-law and granddaughter. Dr. Fischer enjoys spending time with family and has hobbies such as woodworking and gardening.
