Metlife Dental Insurance

Your oral and dental health are only part of the service we provide at Crete Family Dental. For your convenience, we are also an in-network provider with numerous insurance carriers including MetLife. As a MetLife dentist, Dr. Rossini is happy to offer a range of covered dental treatments so you and your family can enjoy the benefits of smiles that are healthy and beautiful.

MetLife In-Network Dentist

As a MetLife in-network or participating dentist, Dr. Rossini has agreed to accept predetermined fees as payment in full for covered services. These fees are usually anywhere from 15 percent to 45 percent less than the average cost for comparable services at another dentist in the area. Negotiated fees are subject to your coinsurance payment, deductible, cost sharing and your benefit maximums.

Dental Insurance from MetLife

MetLife offers both group dental insurance—dental PPO programs, MetLife PDP and PDP Plus—as well as MetLife Take Along Dental, dental insurance you purchase through work or on your own so you and your family have coverage even if you change jobs.

Regardless of the type of dental insurance you have from MetLife, our staff will be happy to file your claims and help you understand the details of your plan. We can explain your coverage for a particular procedure before you schedule an appointment. Most MetLife dental insurance plans cover cleanings, x-rays, fillings, dentures, sealants, orthodontics, crowns, extractions, and root canals. Generally speaking, dental insurance does not cover cosmetic dentistry.

Dental Insurance Fundamentals

While your MetLife dental insurance plan may differ slightly from your neighbor’s, there are some fundamentals that all dental insurance policies follow. For example, dental insurance has benefit maximums that expire at the end of each year. Therefore, participants are encouraged to make the most of their benefits and schedule regular dental checkups every six months for each member of the family, as well as any restorative care that is necessary.

In this way, your dental insurance and your medical insurance coverage are quite different. Dental insurance is designed to accommodate the preventive nature of dentistry. Medical insurance, on the other hand, is meant to cover treatment required once a health problem has been diagnosed. Thanks to your MetLife dental insurance, you and Dr. Rossini can work together to help you and your family avoid dental and oral health concerns before they develop.
